What do I do if I want to get out of debt and fix my credit?
A family member used my social and ruined my credit. I have 1000 in credit card debt. I’m paying my 3000 student loan. I am in strong need of getting a new car AND need to look into loans for school. I want to get back on track any direction would be so appreciated!
Thanks!!!

The first poster seems too much like a mid-night infomercial. That aside if a family member used your social security number and sullied your credit they broke the law and your really should consider pressing charges. That is not a little thing, it is fraud and has hurt you. By pressing charges you would also have good gorunds/evidence to clean up your credit history, assuming you win. You should work hard to pay off the credit card debt as fast as you can, it likely has a much higher rate. Then with out those payments you can start working on the student loan. Additionally please do not buy a “new” car. It will only add another monthly payment. You need to cut back your life style as much as possible and kick this debt in the butt! I am debt free and I can say it is great to be able to spend my money on whatever I choose, I mostly save but you get the picture. If you have access to cable there is a good show on the Fox Buss. Network called the Dave Ramsey show, he also likely has a show on AM radio in your area, look him up, he does good things. Work hard, be frugal, and good luck. Work not wishes brings money!

Try using:
I used their service a couple months back and they consolidated all my debt and lowered my total debt 40%.

The best approach is always to live within your means and stay in that idea for as long as you can and hopefully your life. If one does go and borrow money (and that includes the use of credit cards) ~ always have a plan to pay it back in a particular time frame that suits the amount of money being made at the time and too sustains what life style you live in.
Regarding the credit report ~ that takes time and just get all of your debt under control. Pay it down in a timely manner and do not miss any payments. Check your credit rating every year on line and make sure that there are not any fraudulent reports on there. If you find anything on that that does not belong there; get letter writing and calling to have those things removed right away. They can be very slow in getting them off sometimes.
